The ability to worship as we choose.
The chance to speak our mind in a political forum.
The opportunity to lead our lives and prosper.
The knowledge that a differing opinion will not
lead to imprisonment.
The liberty to voice our own destiny.
The power to make our own decisions.
The right to own a portion of the dream ourselves.
Many have fought through the years to
maintain that precious freedom secured and visioned by our
ancestors so many years ago.
As we celebrate our country’s birth, the conception of freedom,
let us also pause to remember those who have
sacrificed for it.
Let us all make a pledge to respect their gift, to honor it
and to safeguard it through whatever trials and troubles
lay ahead on our path.
